- Details of Event
- He was getting coal and had set a new face side prop. When he laid the first pair of rails into the stall, a centre prop was in the way, so after examining the roof de knocked it out, when a length of 18 feet of roof fell from between the two rows of timber and fractured his spine. He died on 15th December. The roof was considered to be good, and no bars were set. He should have set other props before knocking out the prop.
