- Details of Event
- He had just knocked out a prop in the waste to make room for a pack when a large stone fell and killed him. The stone measured 6 feet 1 inches by 6 feet by 2 feet 4 inches thick and would weigh nearly 5 tons. It fell in one piece from converging slips and a break. Those would probably be invisible before the stone fell. Deceased used an axe and a hammer to loosen the prop and then drew it with his hands. A ringer and chain should have been used.
