Fall of roof on road while repairing and enlarging a main roadway a stone 4ft. by 3ft. by 1ft. fell from the roof, and killed him. Horse haulage was carried on while he was proceeding with this work, and he had been instructed by the manager not to draw down a large quantity of stone, so as to impede the hauliers. This instruction possibly contributed to the accident. Repairs on haulage roads should be done when the haulage is idle. Two and a-half Seam. Safety lamps.
