- Details of Event
- Fall of side (coal) at longwall face in Cockshead seam. The Seam was 7 feet 6 inches thick and a piece of coal 4 feet 6 inches by 1 foot 10 inches by 9 inches burst off the opposite where he was loading a tub and struck him on the head. There was a goth where the foal fell. Stretchers from posts were set to support the face up to the place where the accident happened at which point the loose coal was not sufficiently removed for a post to be set.
