Deceased and the chargeman were engaged fixing a leg under a bar in a gob fire scouring when a quantity of roof stone fell. He was unable to jump clear, and was partially buried by hot material. Had stingers been used this might have been avoided. Apparently and error of judgement on the part of the officials.
