Inspection made and inquest attended. The deceased with others was engaged repairing the walling near bottom of the upcast shaft when a stone fell down the shaft striking him on the head. There was a scaffold in the shaft about one hundred and sixty yards above where some repairs had been done previously but not completed and it was probably from that scaffold the stone fell.
