Deceased was stripping the coal off the lype at a longwall face when a stone 8ft. in length by 3ft 6in. in width and about 3ft. in thickness at centre suddenly fell killing him instantly. The stone was triangular in section and fell from between two parallel lypes converging upwards. The outer lype had not been seen prior to the accident. The place was well propped.
