Deceased was driving an electric locomotive at night with a set of full tubs, when he collided with a set of full tubs which had run amain down a branch railway. The locomotive was overturned, and he was crushed underneath the runaway which had come down a gradient of 1 in 24. The youth in charge of it was lowering the tubs to a certain point, using wooden lockers, when he lost control of them. The rails were slippery. There should have been a stopblock or runaway switch at this point.
