Deceased was working in a split which had only a thin rib on the right side against a hitch, Beyond the hitch was goaf. A slab of stone fell from this side, which caught him on the head. The seam was 13 feet 6 inches thick. There were no indication of crush, and the timber was intact. He died two days later.
