Deceased and another man were sent to take material out of a disused rising road, but were told by the deputy not to go beyond a fence, as there was an accumulation of gas on the inbye side of it. They disobeyed these instructions with the result that deceased was suffocated and the other man rendered unconscious for some time. A breach of General Regulations 4 and 9 was committed.
