He was taking two empty tubs in-bye with his pony and was sitting on the limbers, when about 20 yards from the coal face a large fall of roof took place and killed him. The fall was 7 yards long and came away at a slip which was visible. A weight bump took place causing three bars to be displaced and the fall to occur.
