Kenny was engaged in dressing down the sides and roof of the ripping in a Main level, after a shot had been fired when a heavy fall of roof occurred and buried him. He sustained injuries from which he died on the 24th April. The fall came from between two large slips 11 feet apart at the bottom and 1 foot 6 inches apart at the top, and parted from a roof break parallel with the coal face.
