3 September 1924 - Shunter Fatally Injured - Martin Keltie, pug shunter, Thirdpart, Kilmarnock, was fatally injured while following his employment with the Caprington and Auchlochan Collieries (Ltd) at Thirdpart lyes yesterday afternoon. He was severely crushed between a shunting pole and a waggon, and died within a few minutes. Deceased was 23 years of age and unmarried. [Scotsman 4 September 1924].
