- 12 July 1924: Cowdenbeath Miner’s Death – Follows Accident In Pit – Wm. Kelly, miner, 25 years of age, who resided with his father in Park Street, Cowdenbeath, has died in West fife Hospital. Kelly was crushed in an accident in No.10 Pit Cowdenbeath, belonging to Fife Coal Company, about a month ago, and at the time it was thought that the accident was not of a serious nature. His injuries could not be ascertained, and he was removed to the hospital, where septic poisoning set in as the result of internal injuries, and he has passed away. [Dunfermline Journal 19 July 1924]
