- 21 February 1922: Blantyre – Colliery Accident – On Tuesday a young man named James Kelly, 26, who resides with his sister at Whifflet Place, met with a serious accident while at work in No.3 Priory Colliery, through a rake of loaded hutches running away, which dragged him for a good distance and in consequence he was badly crushed and bruised. He was taken home but later in the day was removed to the Royal Infirmary in the ambulance waggon. [Hamilton Advertiser 25 February 1922]
