- Details of Event
- Deceased who had worked seven weeks underground only part of which time he had acted as a driver was coming outbye on a level road sitting on the limbers of his pony which was drawing a tub filled with stones. When just past a part of the road where one of the props was within 64 inches of the side of the tub he either got his head caught by it or he fell off the limbers or possibly he had been struck by the pony which was addicted to kicking, and had been known to kick above the limbers. He was found lying sideways across the rails his head, which was badly crushed clear of the tubs and his face inbye. The tub was on the rails and the pony still connected to it standing quietly. The Local Inspectors reported that it was a pure accident.
