26 July 1940: FIFE MINER KILLED - A fatal accident occurred in the Brigghills Colliery, near Cardenden, the victim being Andrew Kellock, aged about 45. Kellock was employed in the Diamond Seam of the colliery. A fall from the roof completely buried him. When extricated he was found to have died. He leaves wife and two sons who reside in George Street, Cowdenbeath. [Evening Telegraph 27 July 1940]
