When travelling down an incline on the surface to his home at 6 o'clock at night he was run over by a train of full waggons and killed. He had travelled this incline for more than 20 years and knew the trains were being run on the night in question. From the position of his body and a lamp and basket he was carrying it appeared that he had been getting out of the middle of the way and had slipped and before he could get up again the waggons had caught him.
