Died 24th October. Deceased miner at Seaton Delaval an adjacent colliery and on a pay Friday wandered on to the Cramlington colliery railway and was run over by the first eight of twelve empty 4 ton wagons which a locomotive engine was pushing up to one of the pits the fireman was riding on the front wagon and saw the man and was able to have the train stopped before the whole of the wagons and locomotive had over him. Deceased was taken to Newcastle Infirmary where he died.
