- Details of Event
- He was bringing three full tubs out-bye along a road which dipped in the same direction slightly in places and was level in others. A driver 50 yards behind him heard him shout for help and on going to his assistance found him unconscious under the first tub which was off the rails. At the place of accident the road dipped out bye at the rate of 1 in 20, and it was the custom for the drivers to put in two lockers before coming to this part of the road. None were used on this occasion though there were two on the top of the second tub, and it is probable that the pony was unable effectual to control the tubs, and that the deceased fell or was thrown off the shafts whilst the tubs were running at an excessive speed.
