13 March 1940: Fatal Colliery Accident - Henry Bell, 104 Millerston Street, Glasgow, has died in the Royal Infirmary. He was knocked down by a rake of runaway hutches while employed underground at Wester Auchengeich Colliery, Bishopbriggs, on Tuesday, and was removed to the infirmary, but died the same evening.
