He was throwing down stone with a crowbar from a ledge 6 feet wide and 60 feet from the bottom of the quarry. Some ground fell and struck him on the legs causing him to fall from the ledge and he was killed. He had a suspending rope in his hand but had neglected to secure himself in it. Died 17th.
