- Details of Event
- At the end of his shift deceased was walking up a main endless rope haulage brow, the inclination of which was 1 in 5. He was assisting himself by holding on to the side of the moving tub, when he slipped and fell and the corner of the tub caught him. He went to hospital on December 9th, 1913, and was discharged as cured of the accident on January 18th, 1914. His health became worse and be died on April 3rd. The doctor's evidence of postmortem was that the cause of death was chronic disease of the heart, but the accident might have accelerated his death owing to the strain put on the heart by the injury received.
