- Details of Event
- Deceased for whom a special signal box or manhole was provided had gone 140 yards up the dip to where a derailed loaded tub was going to be put back on the rails. Another boy had come from a station 230 yards further up. The roadman told both at the same time to go back. When ready he had the rope started feeling sure that both boys would be back in their places. The boy from the upper and ore distant station reached his place of safety but deceased must have loitered. A loaded tub somehow became detached from the rope, ran back and struck him causing a cut on the foot. It was not considered serious at first but tetanus supervened and he died on the 27th of the same month.
