Deceased was lighting the fuse of a charge of loose blasting powder placed in a vertical hole, which had already been cracked twice by similar charges. Some sparks from the fuse apparently fell into the cracks and ignited the charge as he was turning away. He was very badly burned and lacerated on the buttocks and back of thighs, and died from tetanus 5 days afterwards.
