- Details of Event
- The medical evidence at the inquest proved that he died from the effects of acute asthma, which, owing to the extra strain caused by breathing impure air, the valves of a weak heart broke down. As he was at work on a return airway haulage road, the fusing of all electric cable caused some timbers to partially ignite inbye where he was white-washing refuge holes. He was unable to get out owing to the fumes, and was found conscious, but in a collapsed state, in one of the manholes.
