Details of Event
The medical evidence at the inquest proved that he died from the effects of acute asthma, which, owing to the extra strain caused by breathing impure air, the valves of a weak heart broke down. As he was at work on a return airway haulage road, the fusing of all electric cable caused some timbers to partially ignite inbye where he was white-washing refuge holes. He was unable to get out owing to the fumes, and was found conscious, but in a collapsed state, in one of the manholes.
