Deceased had been holing on top of the Yard Coal seam, which is 4 feet thick, and while getting down a piece of holing dirt 9 inches long and 3 inches thick with his pick, the stone fell on his right arm causing it to bleed. He went on working and worked the following day, when he had to give up owing to pains in his arm. He died 18th September, from the effects of blood poisoning caused by the injury to his arm.
