Deceased who having gone down in a bowk got out on to the scaffold or cradle in a sinking shaft slipped or overbalanced and fell backwards into the water six or eight feet below. He does not appear to have risen to the surface again probably owing to his wearing a waterproof coat and leggings at the time and also having some heavy tools in his pockets.
