Deceased, having loosened 6 sprags which were set against a face slip, was trying to get a portion of the slip down with a bar, when a much larger quantity of coal than he expected fell, knocked out five posts, and so caused a fall of roof coal, 22 feet by 5 feet by 20 inches thick, which killed him on the spot. The roof coal had slips on three sides, and a smooth above. Four feet seam.
