Deceased, with two other workers, was engaged relaying the rails in a main haulage road, when a fall of rock occurred and fatally injured him. The road was a stone drift having a rock roof. Two deputies had examined the place within a period of four hours and both they and the men working there thought the place quite safe. The road had been in existence four years and timbering was thought to be unnecessary.
