- Details of Event
- Fall of roof on road, fireclay and clod, 16ft. By 9ft. By 56ins. Thick. Deceased was assisting a repairer to rip a heading, and was sent by the latter to take shelter in the mouth of a stall road while he completed the bringing down of a large stone. Before deceased could reach shelter, the large stone, together with a larger stone, fell and buried him. The account given by the repairer of this accident was not altogether convincing. There was no need to go under the shaken roof to seek shelter; he only had to step back a yard to be out of danger. Five feet seam.
