He was found unconscious lying beside his horse and in front of two full trams. The horse appears to have fallen down and was unhurt, but the man was found to have a small round hole, 2.5 inches to 3 inches across, behind his ear, from which injuries he died the same day. He might have been kicked as the horse fell, as he was' probably riding on the "gun" at the time.
