Inquiry made. He was making a pack wall when a stone fell from the roof against his leg when he appears to have severely strained himself. He was able to walk part the way to the shaft but eventually got worse and had to undergo an operation at the Wrexham Infirmary. He expired 5th Nov. 1903.
