When lifting a tram of timber on to the rails a 9-ft. stick fell off and struck his head. He was ill until the 10th August, and then returned to work for about two weeks. Failing again, he went to his home in Worcester, and died in Worcester Infirmary on the 31st of October, from an abscess on the brain, the result, according to medical evidence, of the accident.
