Deceased was travelling behind a coal cutting machine setting props to crown trees which were already needled into the coal and held up by props at the waste end. Owing to the coal breaking just after the machine passed and before be got a prop set to the crowntree next the machine, the crown tree was swung out, some 9 cwts roof stone fell on him and injured his back, He died from his injuries on December 12th.
