Deceased had gone into a disused portion of the quarry presumably to measure some blocks of stone which had been stacked there by the crane. When climbing upon them a block weighing about 30 cwts. tilted over and crushed him against the others. He was removed to the Shrewsbury Infirmary where his leg was amputated but he succumbed to shock on same evening.
