He was found dead in a wagon containing oak beams. He had a newspaper in his hand, and a heavy beam had crushed his head against the end of the wagon. It is evident that he had climbed into the wagon to have a quiet read, and that the beam was thrown against his head by the impact of the wagons on the one in which he was sitting.
