Details of Event
They were engaged in driving a road through the goaf. They had scoured out goaf 5 feet in (from the side of an old road) and the place was 7 feet wide. The roof above suddenly fell and Moat was killed instantly, and Jinks was fatally injured. No timber had been set. It was a case of gross carelessness. 2 killed.
