- Details of Event
- Deceased and another man were drawing timber with a Sylvester appliance, when the prop to which it was attached suddenly gave way and struck deceased on the back of the head. He complained of a headache, but finished his shift and worked the three following days. He then became subject to fits, and was medically attended to the time of his death, which took place on February 19th, 1912. An inquest was held, and verdict was returned that "deceased died from epilepsy, accelerated by an accidental injury received whilst following his employment in the pit".
