Roof fall. William Aitken, miner's drawer 19 Firs, Bannockburn, was killed at 5.00 on Thursday morning while at his usual employment in the Knott coal seam at No.2 Pit, Polmaise Colliery, Millhall. He was working at the brushing face, when a fall of stone came away from the roof, killing him almost instantaneously. Deceased, who was about 30 years of age, leaves a widow and one child.
