He had holed about 8 feet of his coal face, when the coal fell forward over he sprags, and liberated some roof, consisting of coal and blaes about 15 feet long by 7 feet 6 inches wide by 3 feet thick, which fell on him and inflicted fatal injuries. The holing had reached a lype, which could not be seen until the coal had been removed.
