- Details of Event
- When riding a journey of full trams on a level in the Big Vein, and approaching the Main Drift, the tram in which he was riding appears to have left the rails and either thrown him off or caused him to jump off, in either case he was caught by some of the trams and crushed. When the journey was stopped he was found pinned between the eighth tram and a post at the corner of a manhole. The cause of the accident appears to have been some stone falling on the rails from the side of the road.
