As deceased was walking along the Six-feet engine plane he was overtaken by an empty journey, and injured so badly that he died next day. There was considerable noise produced by the sheaves at the tram, and, as he was rather deaf he most probably did not hear the approaching journey. There was ample room on the sides of the road, and manholes were plentiful.
