- The loaded coal tubs from Nos.1 and 2 pits run by gravitation to one common weigh bridge, and, in addition the tubs of debris from No.1 pit to reach the redd bing have also to pass over the weigh bridge, and in order to reach they are run into the cart screen road, which dips 1 in 12 and congregate at the bottom of the dip. Deceased’s duties were to take the loaded tubs as they passed clear of the weigh bridge to the tipplers. For some reason unknown he left his place of work and went to the debris tubs congregated at cart screens road and appeared to be in a stooping position behind the last stationary tub when another debris tub, sent down by his mate came down and crushed him. He had only started his job that morning.
