Inspection made and inquest attended. Deceased and another person were engaged getting timber bars to go down the pit and he was with his back to the pit mouth pulling at a ten foot bar and it was supposed owing to the bar being wet he lost his hold and fell backwards into the shaft and was killed. Deceased had removed the fence, and sent timber down on the single cage just before the accident.
