Whilst deceased was withdrawing a steel prop from the waste a piece of rock, 10 feet by 12 feet by 20 feet fell from the roof and killed him instantly. The fall came from between 2 breaks, practically at right angles to one another. He was using a hammer to loosen the prop before working the wringer which he had attached.
