Lancashire Inspection made and inquest attended. Deceased was in the act of pulling the second tub out of the cage when the winder lowered the cage improperly crushing him between the top hoop of the cage and the landing plates there being no catches provided to hold the cage. At the inquiry it was strongly recommended that catches should be provided, and used in all cases.
