- Details of Event
- Two colliers were taking an empty tram down a dip road and when near a stall in which deceased was working allowed it to run so as to clear a slight rise in the road. Instead of running straight on, it jumped off the road at the pointers of the stall where deceased was and crushed him fatally. He died on the following day. The colliers were very much to blame for allowing the tram its freedom on a dip of 2.5ins. per yard.
