Died Dec. 26. Deceased and other boys trespassed upon the Short railway connecting the colliery with the staithes on the Tyne. He was on a narrow ledge on the line of rails used for the loaded wagons, between some loaded chaldron wagons and the empty road and just as an empty wagon was moving by gravity back from the staiths, he fell off the ledge a distance of 34 feet, and one of his arms extending over the empty road the wagon went over it. He was taken to Newcastle Infirmary, where he died.
