He and his marrow were filling a tub, when a large piece of dogger forming the roof fell, killing him and injuring his marrow. The dogger fell from three converging slips, and was dome-shaped. The place was the last lift of a pillar. The fall would weigh 2.5 to 3 tons. The undermanager was in the place half an hour prior to the accident, but he did not notice anything unusual.
